Judi Dench Invites you to Britain
Like many of Britain’s stately homes and castles, Hever is a beautifully preserved window onto our history. A visit here is a journey into the past where times gone by come vividly alive in the stories of love, treachery, power, war, triumph and tragedy that live on in the fascinating objects you’ll discover.
And you’ll soon find that wherever you go in Britain you’ll see glimpses of our history – in the ancient stones, towering cathedrals and magnificent museums that dot Shakespeare’s ‘sceptred isle’. Marvel at the enigmatic Stonehenge, follow in the footsteps of bygone Kings and Queens, discover The Bard’s birthplace and experience living history as you climb the battlements at Caernarfon Castle or hear the booming one o’clock gun at Edinburgh Castle.

Dame Judy is my homegirl! Has she been listening to my conversations?
One thing, though, Dame Judy does say 'Stratford-on-Avon' which is the political boundary for the district in which the town of Stratford-upon-Avon is situated. I'm giving her the benefit of the doubt and assuming she does mean the area covered by Stratford-on-Avon District Council, in general, which includes Shottery and other out-lying villages. Call me a pedant, go on, I can take it. :-)
I don't like flying. I did not even go to my niece's wedding in the Bahamas because of it. When I heard a group of fans were going to London to see Dame Judi Dench. I did not hesitate. 2009 was our trip and I will remember it all my life.
Beautiful and inspiring.
