First Class Walking Guide – Northern Ireland, Belfast
Postman: David Warwick
David’s walk starts off in the beautiful Tardree Forest, the oldest state forest in Northern Ireland. The route talks in fantastic views of Slemish Mountain, which can in itself be comfortably climbed as part of a separate walk.
The walk takes viewers to an unlikely romantic attraction known as the Holestone, high on a rocky outcrop outside the village Doagh, which is said to have stood since the Bronze Age. The tour concludes by the bank of Loch Neagh, the largest freshwater lake in Northern Ireland, which also offers beautiful views of the Belfast Mountains.
David Warwick has been a postman in County Antrim for three and half years, and received a First Class Hero award from Royal Mail, as a result of his hugely successful fundraising efforts for the Christian Blind Mission.
